Event Rider | Notion

Thanks for your interest in having me speak at one of your events. To make things as simple as possible for everyone, I’ve provided answers to the most common questions and requests.

🗓️ Logistics

Please refer to for all biography and picture information. Due to the high volume of events I attend, no forms related to these will be filled out.
To ensure no timezone confusion or other issues occur, please send a Google Calendar invite to [email protected] for the exact time & venue address of each activity, using the appropriate timezone and start-and-end times. A failure to do so might lead to complications or schedule conflicts.
Presentations shall be given from my personal laptop, which is equipped with HDMI, USB-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack. My presentations do not use audio. In case of any exception (ie. if no HDMI is available on-stage), please inform me directly.
Unless the title and description of the activity are pre-agreed, these shall be delivered to the event organizers on request, but no earlier than four weeks before the event. If they’re required earlier for print, please ensure that the title and activity description are agreed upon at the time of booking. No guarantees can be made that this information will otherwise be available at the time you need it. Changes to pre-agreed titles shall be considered but not guaranteed.
If no information is available, and if fitting, you can use “The Rami Talk” as title, and “Rami Ismail (Ridiculous Fishing, Nuclear Throne) talks about the challenges and opportunities of independent game development in an interactive, ask-me-anything talk.”
Slides shall not be provided prior or after the event, unless otherwise agreed at the time of booking. For interactive presentations in which audience participation is a major part of the presentation, slides will not be made available.
Full recordings of talks can be posted online only if agreed in writing at time of booking, as long as “Rami Ismail” appears in the video title, and the description has a link to ramiismail.com clearly present. Partial recordings of the talk can be used for other promotional purposes or for reporting.

✈️ International Transport (for physical events only)

Flights are to occur at least one day before all relevant responsibilities, and flights out are to occur at least one day after all relevant responsibilities.
It is prefered that the event books the flight, but if agreed upon flights can be reimbursed too. If reimbursement is chosen, the method of transportation shall remain at my discretion unless formally agreed otherwise.
Flights are to be organized on KLM or any other SkyTeam Alliance members - great global routes tend to be available through Delta, Aerolineas Argentinas, Saudia, China (Eastern) Airlines, Korean Air, and Virgin Atlantic. If another airline is to be used, please contact me for approval.
- For bookings on non-Skyteam members, please add priority check-in, boarding, seat selection, and ensure at least two pieces of cabin luggage (or, one cabin item and one checked in item). If these are not available at time of check-in, any costs to acquire these shall be charged by invoice, along with a €25 processing fee.

Please ensure one of the following two options are completed after the flight is booked, or I cannot guarantee presence on the flight. In such case, no refunds will be offered.
- Add my Frequent Flier # for SkyTeam: KL 2111 160 832 to any booking on SkyTeam.
- Please send the PNR/Booking Code (a six character alpha-numerical code) to me at [email protected].
If the event occurs in The Netherlands, North-West Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Southern England, or the North of France, train or car can be considered. Please contact me for approval.
- Car shall be charged at €0,53 per kilometer driven, calculating the distances identified as two times the distance an industry-standard routing tool provides for the one-way drive.
- For train fare please select 1st class train fare.

🛌🏼 Lodging

Lodging is to be booked in a hotel (4 stars or more). Alternatives (AirBnB, Aparthotels, etc.) can be discussed prior to booking. If the hotel is 3 stars, if it has 24/7 room service, that is agreed upon. For any deviations, please get agreement prior to booking.
Lodging is to be booked in such a way that check-in can happen no later than 3 hour after the arrival flights’ arrival time.
